American Bowling Congress – Provided crisis communication counsel in the face of unwarranted media attacks related to sanctioning issues.

B. F. Ascher & Company – Generated national media coverage for OTC pharmaceuticals that treated skin irritation, such as mosquito bites. Devised list of “America’s Itchiest Cities” based on product sales.

Brisco Metal Fabrications – Produced 40th anniversary magazine combining editorial copy and supportive advertising plus endorsement letters. *

Crain Communications Company – Wrote speeches for the chairman of the publishing giant to be given at university commencement ceremonies.

DeVry Inc. -- During 11 years as primary public relations agency, guided company through initial public offering, generating wide range of national articles about technology based education system, and influenced 10-fold growth of stock price.

R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company – Earned national recognition for America’s largest printing company on innovative printing technology.

Haywood Emergency Physicians – Retained by physician group when Haywood Regional Medical Center president threatened to fire entire emergency room to save money, despite exemplary performance.* Developed regional media campaign to draw attention to unethical practices of hospital president and board. Media coverage included major articles in Citizen-Times, Smoky Mountain News, WLOS-TV and various WNC radio stations. Since then, hospital has lost accreditation and president was forced to leave.

Foote Cone & Belding Advertising – Received national award for innovative press kit featuring Kleenex Expressions facial tissues. Kit was subject of full-page article in Wall Street Journal.

The Goss Agency – Persuaded Citizen-Times to publish a major article on former resident returning to Asheville to launch ad agency receiving national awards. Newspaper ran favorable editorial on agency a few days later.*

IMAGEsmith Printing Company – Assisted management in staging 20th anniversary event specifically for graphic designers and convinced Citizen-Times business editor to write feature story on new six color press.*

Kraft Foodservice division – Coordinated arrangements for public relation aspects of participation in Culinary Olympics held in Germany.  Responded to last-minute request for title of Kraft sponsored film on event in 15 minutes: “Hail to the Chef.”

Laurel of Asheville magazine – Principal Chuck Werle writes monthly column on golf catering to visitors and WNC golfers.*

Matt’s Cookies Inc. – Discovered family bakery in Chicago area with all-natural real chocolate cookies with exceptional taste. Developed public relations plan that led to national wire service story on superior product in protective packaging.

North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement – CIB created national marketing program as guidelines for future growth.*

Peoples Gas Company/Chicago – Faced with major crisis situation, advised management on strategy to release negative report on best timeframe to minimize press coverage. Management was very grateful for limited exposure.

Tombstone Pizza Company – Before company was acquired by Kraft, provided counsel to management and generated national feature in Fortune magazine, leading to substantial increase in grocery store shelf space.

Tyson Foods – CIB Principal Chuck Werle helped launch meals for kids by targeting trade publications willing to display product packaging with attractive brand manager. Also devised food safety program for all national brands.

Yesterday’s Tree Home Furnishings Company – Created marketing program for home builders that had to be canceled when initial store was destroyed by fire. Assisted management in writing thank you letter published by Citizen-Times in response to public support.*
